IBBC Conference Held in Baghdad with High-Level Participation

At the invitation of the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC), Al Hadeel Al Hasan Law Firm attended, through its representatives Mr. Ghazi Ali and Mr. Jaafar Al Sabti, the council’s conference today at Al-Rasheed Tulip Hotel in Baghdad, under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister of Iraq.

The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani, Minister of Oil, H.E. Ms. Hayam Al-Yasiri, Minister of Communications, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Affairs, the Prime Minister’s Advisor, and H.E. Mr. Stephen Charles Hitchen, the British Ambassador to Iraq.

The conference also witnessed the participation of senior parliamentary, governmental, and academic figures, alongside a distinguished international presence, including Baroness Nicholson, Chair of IBBC in the UK, and a number of prominent speakers and international companies from various industrial and oil sectors.

The conference featured the participation of leading private banks such as the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) and Standard Chartered Bank, as well as key representatives from the Iraqi and British private sectors, including major companies in investment, industry, and trade.

Discussions covered critical topics such as the oil sector, governance, project facilitation for sustainable development, advancements in the telecommunications sector, enhancing the efficiency of the investment framework, and localizing industries to create job opportunities for young people.

Additionally, the conference explored university development through innovation in education and media, as well as innovative financial solutions and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through accessible financing options.
